NRHM is celebrated in April.National Residence Hall Month (NRHM)

Description:
April is observed as National Residence Hall Month (NRHM) to celebrate the many accomplishments, experiences and educational opportunities that happen within the residence halls. Residence halls (previously called "dorms" for their lack of educational development) are one of the most idealistic environments to develop leadership, interpersonal skills and creativity.
Purpose:
NRHM is the time when students, faculty, staff, and administration show their appreciation and recognition of the residence halls for its many contributions to the on- and off-campus communities. Residence life programs consist of multiple entities that educate students within the halls through programming, leadership opportunities and development.
- Housing Administration (Directors, Assistant Directors, etc.)
- Residence Life Coordinators (Educators, Area Coordinators, etc.)
- Resident Assistants
- Residence Life Organizations (Hall councils, RAA, RHA, NRHH, ACUHO-I, etc.)
- Living/Learning Community Facilitators
This month is always a special event for NACURH, Inc. as we represent the interest of residence life student organizations internationally and recognize those individuals who go above and beyond the call of duty to insure the ultimate residence life experience.
Expectations:
To organize programs and events to accomplish the following:
- Recognize residence life (Staff, Student Leaders and Residents)
- Give back to your local community (Community Service)
- Programs and/or Professional/Leadership development seminars
- Advocacy
It is extremely important to not only recognize staff and organizations for their contribution to residence life, but to remember the students who reside within; for without them our roles would not exist.
