About PACURH
Purpose of PACURH
- Consistent with the Articles of Incorporation of NACURH, the purpose of PACURH shall be to promote student intellectual, educational, cultural, physical, and social welfare; to design and facilitate programs and informational services; to provide an avenue for assisting students achieve fuller participation in the life of the college community and to extend the influence in good name of the organization everywhere.
PACURH Diversity Statement
PACURH adopted a Diversity Statement in 1992, which reads as follows:
- PACURH is a student-run organization whose purpose is to provide leadership development opportunities for student leaders in residence hall systems across the region. Students that comprise the organization are of different races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, religions, ages, genders, personal beliefs, and political affiliations. As such, PACURH is a representative body of a truly multicultural population and is committed to promoting an atmosphere conductive to embracing and celebrating individual differences and lifestyles. PACURH accepts the responsibility to act aggressively and proactively toward educating the membership. PACURH strongly encourages schools to build conference delegations that are representative of the diversity of people from their individual campuses. Ultimately, PACURH strives for an appreciation, understanding, and celebration of diversity.
PACURH Pride Colors
In 1994, PACURH adopted pride colors. The following colors were adopted:
- Blue, signifying water’s motion, the strength of involved-students’ leadership, and the depth of programs that are exchanged between schools
- Green, signifying the grass that grows, the growing organization at the member schools, and the residents who are positively affected by the education their leaders gain through NACURH
- Yellow, signifying the sun’s energy and desire to move in a positive direction that the Pacific Affiliate looks towards
NACURH Mission Statement
- NACURH is the leading national organization advocating for the interests and welfare of residence hall students, while also providing opportunities for their personal growth and development. It is an organization of students committed to developing leadership, honoring diversity, recognizing achievement, as well as stimulating engagement and involvement among students who reside in college and university residence halls. Through regional and national programs and services, NACURH provides leadership opportunities for students, shares residence hall programming resources and best practices, and coordinates activities with appropriate professional associations and business partners.
NACURH Vision Statement
- The National Association of College and University Residence Halls, Incorporated, recognizes living on campus as an integral part of the college experience, and therefore strives to be the organization of choice for residence hall leaders by providing comprehensive resources for college and university students seeking to create the ultimate residence hall environment and experience.
NACURH Unification Statement
- NACURH is a student-run organization whose members’ purpose is to provide communication, education, and leadership development opportunities for student leaders in residence hall systems across the country and around the world. The students who comprise our organization represent different abilities, races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, religions, ages, genders and political affiliations. As such, NACURH is a representative body of a truly multicultural population in which individual differences are accepted and welcomed. We accept the responsibility to act aggressively and proactively toward educating our membership. We strongly encourage member schools to build conference delegations that are representative and inclusive of the diversity of people from their individual campuses. Ultimately, we strive for an appreciation, understanding, and acceptance of diversity. Finally we encourage member schools to work together to provide a unified front in order to achieve our basic goal of improving residence halls nationwide, and internationally.
NRHH Mission Statement
- The National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) is the premiere honorary supported by the leading national organization advocating for the interests and welfare of residence hall students, while also providing opportunities for their personal growth and development. NRHH strives to provide recognition for individuals who have contributed to the advancement of college and university housing. It ensures the advancement of member chapters through resource sharing, programming, and leadership development opportunities to contribute and support the vision of the National Association of College and University Residence Halls, Incorporated.
NRHH Vision Statement
- As an integral component of the National Association of College and University Residence Halls, Incorporated (NACURH), the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) strives to recognize the top 1% of student leaders living in college and university housing at NACURH member schools. NRHH encourages the development and continued commitment to leadership within the areas of recognition, community service, and scholastics on the local, regional, and national levels.
