For your RHA, you need to submit the following:
RFI Report
Update Contact Information
Pay Affiliation Dues
For campuses with an NRHH chapter, you also need to submit the following:
NRHH Constitution to be approved by the AD-NRHH]
List of NRHH Members
Update Contact Information
Step 1: Log in to the website
The first thing you will need to do is sign into the webpage, www.nacurh.org. Enter your username and password on the left hand toolbar. (Hint: your username is the name of your school.) Each
school is assigned its own login, so the login information should pass down from NCC
to NCC, but if you’re not sure of your password or if you have any difficulties don’t
hesitate to email the NIC AD of Affiliations at nic.affiliations@nacurh.org or the NIC
AD of Technology at nic.tech@nacurh.org.
Step 2: Start your online affiliation process
To start the affiliations process after you’ve logged in, click on the “affiliate online” link
in the tool bar at the left hand side of the home screen. You will then be guided through
the entire affiliations process. There are several pieces of information required to affiliate:
• School information (name, address, etc.)
• RHA information (name, website, fax etc.)
• NRHH information (name, website, fax, etc.)
• Contact information (name, phone number and email for RHA president, NCC,
• RHA advisor, NRHH president and NRHH advisor)
• RFI report
• NRHH constitution
• NRHH members list
Step 3: send in your payment
You can choose to either mail us your check or to hand it to us at conference. Please
make sure your check is for the correct amount ($35 for associate membership, $85 for
small schools, $110 for large) and is written out to NACURH, Inc.
Step 4: wait for the NIC to verify your information
After you submit your final application, all your affiliation documentation will be rushed
to the NIC to make sure everything is A OK. You can always check on the status of
your school’s application by signing into the website and clicking the “Your School’s
Affiliation” link in the left hand tool bar. If there are any problems with any of your
information, your NIC rep will write detailed notes on what’s wrong and how to fix it
which can be visible through this page.
Step 5: enjoy being affiliated!
If you have any further questions or concerns about the online affiliation system, please
don’t hesitate to contact the MACURH RCC-Recruitment and Retention at ma_recruitment@nacurh.org, head of MACURH affiliations, or the NIC Associate Director of Affilaitions at aff@nacurh.org.

How do I obtain a username/password for the NACURH Information Center website?
Email nic.affilaitions@nacurh.org and be sure to copy the MACURH RCC of Recruitment & Retention [ma_recruitment@nacurh.org] so they know that a request was made. Every NCC, RHA Advisor, RHA President, and NRHH President should have this information in order to update their portion of the website as needed. PLEASE do not have each representative send a separate email, as each school only has ONE username and ONE password to be shared with all representatives.
How much does affiliation cost and when is this amount due?
Depending on your type of membership, your affiliation cost will vary.
- Large School (1,001 residents or greater on campus): $110/year
- Small School (1,000 residents or fewer on campus): $85/year
- Associate Member (first-time affiliation ONLY): $35/year
This amount is due to the NACURH Information Center at any point throughout the year. In order to have voting rights for the current affiliation year, it is required for dues to be paid prior to the opening of the MACURH Regional Conference.
When should schools pay their dues?
It is STRONGLY recommended to give anywhere from 2-6 weeks depending on the check-cutting process for your school for the check to make it to the NACURH Information Center and be processed. If you cannot mail it within those time frames, representatives from the NACURH Information Center are available at check-in during regional conferences to accept payment. Payment MUST be completed in either a check or money order, and be for the exact amount only.
Does NRHH have to pay a separate affiliation cost?
As of NACURH 2007, the cost to affiliate a school includes both an RHA and NRHH chapter for each campus. If your school only has either an RHA or an NRHH, you are still required to pay the full amount. Also, a school must be affiliated before it is allowed to establish an NRHH chapter on its campus.
How do voting rights work?
Associate Memberships do not include voting rights within either regional or national business. However, those schools are welcome within boardrooms to discuss, debate, move, and otherwise participate. Small and Large School Memberships include all of the rights listed above as well as voting privileges. The NACURH Information Center representative at regional conferences has the final say regarding voting rights for member schools and is unable to make exceptions to the guidelines set forth in policy.
What is the Resource File Index, and how do I utilize this resource?
The Resource File Index, or RFI, is a massive collection of documents written by NACURH member schools throughout its history. For convenience, the RFI is divided into categories: first, the submitted reports for the current affiliation year broken down by type; and second, any regional or national award bid winners submitted in lieu of a RFI report. Additionally, all winning bids for Regional Board of Director positions are available on the RFI. All of these documents are available to order by affiliated schools.
What does an RFI report have to contain?
Cover page: University Name, Title of Report, Current Affiliation Year, Number of Pages [including cover page], Abstract of RFI Report
How many pages should my RFI report contain?
An RFI report must be a minimum of 5 pages INCLUDING the cover page. Each page MUST be labeled with page numbers except the cover page. The numbers should begin on the second page where the content of the report begins.
Is my school exempt from writing an RFI report?
If your school has not been affiliated with MACURH and NACURH in the past three [3] years, then you are exempt.
What format is accepted for the RFI report?
The RFI report is required to be submitted as a PDF document.
It must also be saved with the following name format:
(school name)_(NICreport)_(affiliation year).
Are there formatting guidelines I must adhere to for the RFI report?
Yes. All RFI reports must contain the following, and will be rejected if they do not adhere to the guidelines listed below:
1-inch margins on all sides
Font between 10-12 point

Are there alternatives to writing an RFI report?
Yes. A video report can also be submitted, however, there are specific guidelines to adhere to when compiling a VFI [Video File Index] report:
Files need to be submitted in standard definition TV (NTSC) using the DV (Digital Video) codec (newer versions of Microsoft and Macintosh operating systems include this codec and the ability to read it from various video-recording devices.
Finished video file MUST be submitted on 1 (one) or more DVD recordable disks; DVD+/-R and DVD+/-R DL (dual layer) disks are acceptable
If your file must be separated on multiple disks, please make each part so it can be viewed individually.
All VFI submissions MUST include at least 30 minutes of material.
