In honor of Valerie’s extraordinary accomplishments in the field, the National Association of College and University Residence Halls, Inc. has declared Thursday, April 22nd a Day of Remembrance. Please join us in remembering Valerie Averill and the outstanding work she did for college students across the country.
This upcoming Thursday, April 22, has been declared a Day of Remembrance by our executive team in honor of Valerie. This will be a day to reflect on all Valerie gave to us as individuals and as an organization.
We invite you to honor Valerie’s memory with us on this day. The simple way we propose to do this is to wear a NACURH related pin. This could be any pin from the organization- an NRHH membership pin, a pin from a conference, a Bronze pin, even a clothespin. If asked what the pin is being worn for, simply explain it is to honor the wonderful dedication of Valerie to the organization and the individuals within it.
